Hey y'all. New to p2p. Looking for feedback on an EDM song I wrote. Wanna pitch this as a cue. Special shout to jimmy Carvalho for turning me on.

Hi,

not my genre really so just my 2 cents. Took awhile to get the percussion layer introduced, and again, not my genre but I thought EDM was "moving" from start to end? When the percussion layers came in, that was more EDM to me. Since you're thinking of using an edited version for cues, you should be able to extract some nuggets.

Welcome to the forums. I'm sure you'll get some great feedback. There are a few EDM posters that are much more qualified to comment than me.

Enjoyed the track.

cheers

Not my thing, but I like it! It's well done and interesting to hear it evolve an stay focused at the same time. 8-)

Solid tune--Slide the first drop??

Post by nwheeler11 » Mon Aug 22, 2016 8:49 am

Good tune. My only suggestion would be the extend the first half of the initial drop. Around 1:00-1:02 you have a great drop that I think get interupted too soon by the bell/synth sound. I think it will groove harder if you let it drop and then leave the listener in more tension. Afrojack is the master of building that tension-See Lunar on the old Guetta album. Generally though--Solid tune

yes, I'd say the opening part and first parts with vox could use some work.
However the pulsing main part sounds way better. Pro works there, IMO
Both better arranged and mixed, plus the variation there is great, I'd say.
