Hi Cass, really sorry I can't come up with any alas for you but I think this is a cracker!!!

Love the ambiences, the vocal delays, arrangement and the backing. All really tasteful. Peter's voice is quality too!
Obviously you've got some work to do but the ingredients are all there.

I suppose if you decide the destination, film/ tv/ radio and use references like Mike Senior suggesst to stay within your limits: like sibilance and bottom end etc. you can be your own ala :lol:

It has lots of movement, keep it open and dynamic, support the parts that build.

Looking forward to hearing some more of this.

Hey Robert

Nice production and vocal and I love the unique vibe of this song. It reminds me of a contemporary David Bowie. A really cool tune :)

Thanks for the good words Tom!
I was leaning a little towards Bowie "Major Tom" in my thoughts... As I begin subtracting I'll have to find a place to "tip my hat" to that tune.
I have a slight "Tip of the Hat" to the Beach Boys in there that will become a little more prominent as this progresses with the subtractions, right now it's a little bit hidden!
Thanks Again :D

Like pie with ice cream on top... it could also be rendered "in complement to".
I sometimes like my (French) Vanilla Ice Cream with some of my homemade Limoncello* "a la mode";
an ounce or so poured over the ice cream creates a complementary flavor...
and adds just a bit of a kick. :? :P

I got a Red Hot Chili Peppers vibe, just about the "Californication" album..

Great song Cass. Love the heavy reverted effect you bring in on those lines (mostly the background vocal phrases).

Possible ALA - Hozier a little maybe.
