Looking for an ALA to mix this to. Collab with Peter Byrnes

Post by cassmcentee » Thu Aug 25, 2016 1:01 pm

This is just a very rough mix!
https://soundcloud.com/robert-cass-mcen ... atch-vocal
Peter agreed to work with me on a collaboration after tracking/mixing "Yellow Cake"
I had him stop in yesterday to give me a rough vocal so that I can work on dynamics before the final vocal...
...and so that we can start talking Film/TV Lyrics...
Wondering if any of you hear an ALA that you recommend I drop into the project to mix towards?!?
Thanks!

Fredrik, when you look at a Taxi Listing there are usually three songs that are the reference tracks for that particular listing. We tend to call those reference tunes "ALA's" (or "sounds like") (or better yet, what you need to sound like)
In this case I don't have a reference track since this is a straight up collaboration without a listing in mind.
So I'm looking for a little help for an "ALA"/"sounds like" so I can be more specific to target a genre!
P.S. Thank You! :D

Reminded me a bit of Paul Durham and his band Black Lab.
