Thank you, Tom!
Powerful and haunting - good to know - exactly the listener reaction I intended (and hoped) to evoke.

Re: New song "CAN YOU HEAR ME"
contemporary structure (check)
--- i call it high- low/ loud- soft..--
emotional and compelling lyric (check)
--great feel--
*the rap parts are strong feel good the chorus is nicely done in contrast
i think (by feel only) the soft chorus parts are great
but might be a smidge to long for me. my thought is that
it loses the momentum that felt so good by going on that many bars.
this IS nit picky i understand. but in today's music the songs that dont lose momentum
seem to be to most popular .. i guess its a balancing act.
all in all, its got great montage cinematic vibe and i love it

Re: New song "CAN YOU HEAR ME"
Hi Jimmy!
Thank you for sharing your thoughts - so glad you found the lyrics emotional and compelling. It didn’t cross my mind to include the lyrics when I posted this song so I’ll do so now.
With regard to your listening experience as it pertains to the chorus section(s) - I appreciate your perspective. A good amount of time was spent discussing the length of the chorus.
In the end - well, you heard our decision. It was my feeling that the repetition of the hook Can You Hear Me x4 could help encourage or stir a sense of hopelessness - a sense of time standing still in the listener - the same sense of hopelessness I dare to imagine was experienced by the victims themselves. It was also my feeling that the length of the chorus would allow the listener a moment to process the lyrics heard in the verses - the same lyrics you found emotional and compelling. The subject matter is an unpleasant one - albeit an unfortunate reality as of late - so much so that we become desensitized to the violence overtime - this happens in music as well. It was an intentional decision in Chorus 1 - in Chorus 2 and 3 we added the backing vocal to create a little bit of momentum and tension. So, in some respects, perhaps the loss of momentum (or monotony) you experienced while listening to the chorus sections means I did my job.
All the best!
CAN YOU HEAR ME
[VERSE1:]
Got your finger
On the trigger
Lining me in chalk
With your Sig Sauer
And your Glock
You psycho twisted *#@%&
You’ze a coward
What’s wrong witchu?
Shot me dropped me
I’m on my knees
I know who I am
Live or die
You ain’t nothin’
You ain’t nothin’ in the end
[PRE-CHORUS:]
Instrumental
[CHORUS:]
Can you hear me?
Can you hear me?
Can you hear me?
Can you hear me?
Lift me up
High above the hate
Voice of love
I'm not afraid
[VERSE 2:]
Can you find me?
Can you reach me?
Can you wake me?
Am I dreaming?
Is this real?
This can't be happening
Can you find me?
Can you free me?
Can you mend me?
Can you heal me?
Can you hold me?
Am I dreaming?
Save me from this hell I'm in
[PRE-CHORUS:]
Instrumental
[CHORUS:]
Can you hear me?
Can you hear me?
Can you hear me?
Can you hear me?
Lift me up
High above the hate
Voice of love
I'm not afraid
[BRIDGE:]
The just though they die early
They shall be at rest
Ain’t no more questions only knowing
Yeah but what about the rest though
What about the rest?
This ain't no make-believe
The bullets flyin' slicing through the air
Unforeseen hopes deceived
Shooter on the loose
Brothers dyin' sisters cryin'
What the world come to?
No / please don't / said please don't shoot
I don’t got no gripe witchu
Dyin' for nothin' that’s another man's grudges
What I ever do to you?
Gunshots poppin' shells droppin'
Blood spilled into the street
Man I ain't your enemy
Not here not tonight
Too young not my time
Sons and daughters
Gut-shot corpses
Last words recorded
Momma
Can you hear me?
He's coming
I'm gonna die
Save me, save me, save me
Save me from this hell I’m in
Can you
Can you
[CHORUS:]
Can you hear me?
Can you hear me?
Can you hear me?
Can you hear me?
Lift me up
High above the hate
Voice of love
I'm not afraid
