Big Film Placement Release!!

Good week! Another film (Moments of Clarity) released yesterday with my wah-wah funk track "72 Deuce" getting placed. At first I was slightly bummed because it only played for about 18 seconds in a scene where a dark church lady is watching an adult film on TV. Then they used the track again for another 45 seconds in another comedic sex scene where Eric Roberts is gettin' it on with someone. (The film is actually a dark comedy, not porn). I thought, okay that's better, two slots. And THEN...they used my full song to play over the credit roll for 3 minutes! The film actually ends on my buttoned ending. And I made the Soundtrack too. Holy crap!

I've finally met my main goal since getting into film/TV music 4 years ago. Although I love getting songs signed with publishers and the occasional TV placement, for me this business has always been about getting my music into films. Moments of Clarity is actually a pretty big one with actual stars...Eric Roberts (Julia's brother), Lyndsy Fonesca (The Escort), and Marguerite Moreau (Runaway Jury). I am really happy about this week's achievement, especially after getting another song placed and released in The Horde last week. A big shout-out to Taxi who put the funk listing up back in 2014 for Moments of Clarity.

This was a 'Direct to Music Supervisor' listing from Taxi that happened quickly. I sent in my song on the due date, it was forwarded by the screener to the Music Supervisor that evening, and the Sup emailed me the next day and placed the song immediately. It just took two years for the film to get to release/distribution. So if you're frustrated waiting for results, hang in there...it's worth the wait.
