Some Dreams Never Sleep ©2016 Robert George BMI
When the winter nights were dark and cold and moody,
Haunted dreams would hang their paintings of your beauty
In the hallways of my heart
Now I see your red curls rolling down your sweaters,
And I smell the perfume on your old love letters
When it’s nowhere close to dark
Some dreams never sleep
I can see them day or night
When I close my eyes
I can feel your ray of light
And those scenes are mine to keep
Cos some dreams never sleep
I can hear us laughing over tea and tacos,
In that multi-culture bistro in Morocco
Back when love was made of time
Now my lonely soul keeps looking inward,
Cos it’s like your mem’ry is a magic vineyard
Where my teardrops turn to wine
Some dreams never sleep
I can see them day or night
When I close my eyes
I can feel your ray of light
And those scenes are mine to keep
Cos some dreams
Some dreams never sleep
O life is born a mortal paradox
The freest man is slave to ticking clocks
But all these dreams reveal what could’ve been
And they somehow return my time again
Some dreams never sleep
I can see them day or night
When I close my eyes
I can feel your ray of light
And those scenes are mine to keep
Cos some dreams
Some dreams
Some dreams never sleep…
