Ballerina Rose
Waltzing in the April wind
On a hilltop where a birdsong is your only friend
Ballerina rose
You would rather pirouette than pose
Ballerina rose
Twirling now in late July
Watching you it’s like a flower somehow dares to fly
Ballerina rose
Restless roots put wings upon your toes
You’re a beacon of liberty
Wild and willful and agile
But why must a spirit so free
Be so tender and fragile
Ballerina rose
In the chilly autumn breeze
Spinning like it’s May before a late September freeze
Ballerina rose
One last dance before your long repose
You’re a beacon of liberty
Willful, wild and agile
But why must a spirit so free
Be so tender and agile
Ballerina rose
One last dance before your long repose…
Ballerina Rose
