Re: Big news in the Game world!!!
A very belated but very sincere congratulations to my buddy Mazz. I should mention that I met Mazz at the 2004 Taxi Rally. He and Jean invited me to sit with them at the restaurant for lunch (or dinner?... don't remember). Anyway, in addition to being an awesome composer he's a pretty nice guy. Not as nice as me but still pretty nice.

Aw shucks you old kidder you!! You never know who you're going to meet at a Road Rally. If one or the other of us hadn't spoken up in the restaurant, we never would have made friends and that would have been a bummer. I'm glad to know you Dave! The TAXI family continues to expand! Cheers! Mazz

Another Congrats to you! As Holmes would say "Come, Watson, come! The game is afoot ..."

Hi Mazz,
Fantastic work! I just listened to the montage and was blown away by the detail and richness of the tracks! As somebody else said, it's no surprise your work is getting appreciation from the big guns.
I'm curious which orchestral sample library you use? Your sounds are terrific (which I'm sure are mostly to do with your skill in applying them).
Cheers, and again, well done!
Eliot Pister.

Eliot Pister. Thanks again everyone! Feels good to be making career progress!! Hi Eliot! I use several libraries for orchestral music, among them: EWQLSO, Kirk Hunter Diamond, Kirk Hunter Concert Strings, LA Scoring Strings, Samplemodeling Trumpets, SAM Orchestral Brass, VIR2 Elite Orchestral Percussion and so on. Yes, I continue to spend a lot of time learning how to make them sound as realistic as possible. I takes a lot of time to tweak the sounds no matter how good the library. The library is really only about half of the battle, the rest is how you use it. Kind of like a great musical instrument. In the hands of an accomplished musician, it's a magical thing, in the hands of a less accomplished player, maybe not as magical! Thanks again and good luck to everyone in your careers!! Mazz

I know I'm a bit late to the party on this, Mazz. But great news and congratulations! We Taxi folk are proud for you! I can't wait to hear all the follow-up successes that will ensue. Cheers, Eliot.

Re: Big news in the Game world!!!
Very late here (as the news was posted the day I started a new day job at a start-up, and I've been scarce around here since) but another big "congratulations!" I'd joined TAXI just days before the Road Rally, I was at that video game panel, and I can't imagine a higher bar than "give me something as good as these guys up here can produce, but different from what I can already get from them." This is HUGE.

Mazz: Well deserved! You are a constant help and inspiration here. I have many of your vital threads bookmarked for my further education and knowledge base. I think out of all the things you've posted, I was most impressed with the fact that you still work as much as a 13 hour day gig and still can come home to create world class music ON TIME and on demand.
