Lyricists desperately needed!

Post by Mark Crozer » Mon Aug 29, 2011 10:02 am

Hi guys

I'm looking for lyric writers to collaborate with. Not just for Taxi listings but for general songwriting purposes. You need to be a prolific writer and able to write interesting, offbeat but universally appealing lyrics. The genre is mostly AAA, Pop/Rock, Singer-Songwriter. Please check out some of my songs to get an idea.

Thanks!

Mark

Hi Mark,
I'm very impressed with your credentials as I'm a shoegazer from the early 90's myself! I also have an Oxford connection so we may know some of the same people, well, maybe by a few degrees of separation!
I've written plenty of songs as well as had poetry published, and I'm going to write that novel one day!
I've done an album of instrumental music which comes with a booklet of photos and a some prose for each song.
If you click on each track the page comes up and you can read some of the prose.

This is just a little something, but I can write lyrics to match whatever you're after, whether you it's the lyrics you want first or whether they need to match a melody you already have. I have just sent off a song for the Susan Boyle listing, for which I've done a generic love song, so I'm happy to tackle whatever subject, in whatever way you'd like.
Let me know what your currently after and I'll give it a go and if it's not your cup of tea, then no problems.
Cheers
Gary

"Tragic Love"
Copyright © 2012 Costas Pirzas All Rights Reserved

[verse 1]
Good bye babe it all came to an end
I'll never forget the way you wore your blonde hair

Many years later fate brought us together
When I saw you standing over there

Did you think I could love you forever
it was just a game that sheltered the pain

you should have told me
That you were so lonely

[chorus 1]
did I need to bleed for you babe
did I need to bleed for your love
did I need to bleed for you babe
did I need to bleed for your tragic love

[verse 2]
you touched my soul at a young age
you coming back would be impossible

you laid all your love on the table
I couldn't play another part in your love fable

you came back to shelter from the pain
you came back so I could wipe your tears

[Pre chorus 2]
you should have told me
That you were so lonely

[chorus 2]
did I need to bleed for you babe
did I need to bleed for your love
did I need to bleed for you babe
did I need to bleed for your tragic love

[bridge]
did I need to write you an anthology
That would have bleed you our tragic love story

[verse 3]
but babe it's too late for anthologies
time has sealed the fate of our love story

time has tragically taken you from me
time has taken my shelter from the pain

and babe when we meet again
don't forget to wear your blonde hair for me

[Pre chorus 3]
i should have told you
that i was so lonely

[chorus 3]
you needed to bleed for me babe
you needed to bleed for my love
you needed to bleed for me babe
you needed to bleed for my tragic love

babe I was so lonely [soft]

Hi Mark,

I'm brand new to Taxi and haven't had a chance to post anything yet. I'm new to lyrics writing but have completed dozens of pieces that could contribute to finished songs. I've posted one below. I hope its of interest to you.
I write lyrics only and would love the chance to partner with someone and add words to their music

I'll be back with more once I figure out how things work on Taxi.

I can be reached @ jakyla@northrock.bm

** can some one suggest the best forum and the best format to post a body of lyrics for other members to look at, critique collaborate on etc

            She Says, He Says
                      (One)
She says she wants to set me free,
She can't cope, and why can't I see,
No more obligations and responsibilities.
Her life is so tainted, messed up and torn,
She's sad I'll miss her but soon she'll be gone,
cause love is no reason for her to go on.

                     (CHORUS)
He says like Columbus, I'm all lost at sea,
without you baby, it'll go on indefinitely
I'll fill this divide, and I'll get by your side
There'll be no obligation, there'll be no responsibility,
Without you my wandering winds will blow psychotically,
cause without you baby, life is a lonely mystery.

                           (Two)
She says footsteps always dissolve in the rain
soon we won't remember each others name,
She's my tropical depression, dreaming like a hurricane.
Suffocated, abandoned and kicked across the floor,
She swears incandescently through God's open door,
now she knows he's not home much anymore.

                            (Three)
She says you reached and teached me to unspell pain,
but now she can't think inside this stinging rain.
We've loved through sum bitter till it became all sweet,
please ground why can't you just reach her feet.
She says I'm the only star in her corroding sky,
She left me her halo and no reason why
