I have pieces of music in multiple genres ranging from Pop to Movie Scores. Please Review what i have on my page and tell me what you think. I don't have the best recording equipment for the vocals but how are the concepts?

Here's my opinion:

The first few sound dated. The drums in particular soundmid-90's. Drum sounds have evolved dramatically since then. Further, the mixes don't have the 'edge' that the genre requires. That edge is attained many different ways but generally starts with the patch, has a lot to do with compression, eq'ing and inserts, and ends with mastering.

As far as the vocal, it sounds like a decent vocal BUT the eq is curious. It sounds as if all the high and low end are rolled off, creating an "am radio" or "telephone" effect. I would like to hear it more natural sounding, because it the voice itself sounds nice (sans eq/processing).

The performances are very good. Nice work there. I really like the vocalist, too. In fact, I could probably use you in my demo jobs, if you're interested in vocal work. However, I agree with James that the EQ needs to be adjusted to a natural setting. The low freq cut off can be used sparingly in areas for effect, but even that is becoming a dated technique. Having your EQ levels just straight in the middle should be a good starting point for the vocals.

I'm also going to have to back up James on the sounds you're using sounding dated. I use Reason myself, for sounds/patches, but it is often difficult to find a sound that sounds fresh and current. What works for me is YouTube. I go on youtube and find current songs in the genre I'm producing and try to match their sounds to a sound I have in my arsenal. If I have something close, I'll attempt to edit it to give it more of an "edge" as James mentioned, and make it sound more current. Sometimes, it's just a matter of killing the delay and reverb, shortening the length of the notes, and adding a tiny bit of distortion to the patch. Unless you have a brand new library of sounds, chances are you're working with sounds that were put out 10+ years ago, that were made for the time.

I'll join the choir; some sounds are dated. I listened to Sunnier Days; thought the production was a little dryer than necessary, and think you need a better piano sound/sample, for starters. Good songs/music, decent mix/production and sounds.
