Orchestral work with Kirk Hunters - POP Rock Strings

Post by rnrmachine » Sat Oct 29, 2011 9:23 pm

Hey folks,

Since the group buy is going on I thought I would post some work I did with POP Rock Strings from Kirk Hunter just so ya can see how good they sound. Granted I used a 3rd party reverb because Pop Rock Strings doesn't come with one. They have an awesome sound out of the box though, just not orchestral.

Escape the Hound is part 2 of a 3 part series. Knight of Fortitude is part 3 of 3. I haven't finished part 1 yet and not sure when I will. So if ya listen to more than one.. listen to Escape the Hound then listen to Knight of Fortitude. That is the order they go. Escape is an Electronica style mixed with a few orchestral elements. PRStrings used of course.

Be sure and right click the link and open in a new tab so you don't lose this page.

Escape the Hound http://www.taximusic.com/stream/426351/ ... heHound");

Knight of Fortitude http://www.taximusic.com/stream/426350/ ... rtitude");

Escape http://www.taximusic.com/stream/388437/ ... "Escape");

They aren't great songs but the strings certainly sound good imho. The horns are the not so convincing K4 horns which aren't bad BUT could be better. Drums are a mix of Battery3 and K4 stuff. Escape has a lot of Native Instruments stuff in it... and it's a bit too hot of a mix... so it could sound a bit richer if I didn't master it so hot. lol

I gave that info just in case anyone was interested... imagine them with Concert Brass and Strings II. :D Then imagine if I/we only had to pay 25% of the normal cost... with an additional 10% off for anyone who is a current KH customer... because we lose our upgrade pricing in the GB. YIPPEE haha

Have fun everyone!!!

Hey Rob... These won't play for me for whatever reason. I'd love to hear the strings!

Best,

Ern 8-) :)

Hey Ern,

They are streamed from Taxi and default to quicktime for me... since it's not working you can go directly to my Taxi page and play them there. Either way they are 192bps.

Here are BJ links at 320bps: remember to listen to Escape the Hound before Knight of Fortitude. IF ya listen to both.

The strings sound great even if the composition's won't ever win me an award LOL

Take care,

Rob

Nice, driving piece on "Escape The Hound!" The strings sound really good. The attacks on the first 0:40 sound a bit delayed --- you might want to double them with violins that have more attack.

Very cool stuff!

Best regards,
