I was goin’ fishin’ in the Rockies So I stopped off at a store Stock up on some coffee, bait and jerky Maybe grab a case of Coors And the little guy behind the counter Looked too young to sell me beer Then he said he’s ready to retire After workin’ forty years Then I got my beer n gear and left his shop And I set up camp that night n popped a top
Six cans and I was twenty-four once more On board a plane and comin’ home from war Sweet Jenny waitin’ back in Tennessee I stepped off and she started kissin’ me YEAH, I damn sure drank my limit At a furious pace the whole night Feelin’ younger by the minute With the curious case of Coors Light
Well, I woke up fuzzy and went fishin’ Lotsa fog between my ears Came back n burned me up some salmon And I flushed it down with beer Couldn’t git enough n wondered where that stuff was brewed I felt weird n strange…that beer sure changed my mood
Six cans and I swear I was just nineteen Scared silly standin’ in my army greens Young Jenny sayin’ that I look strong n brave Somehow I knew her kisses kept me safe YEAH, I damn sure drank my limit At a furious pace the whole night Feelin’ younger by the minute With the curious case of Coors Light
Well, the last night things got hazy Cos I got a little drunker And though this is soundin’ crazy I did more than just get younger
YEAH, I was feelin’ barely seventeen With Jenny parked out by some evergreens But on the last one I was eighty-three Sweet Jenny was still kissin’ me Cos I damn sure drank my limit At a furious pace the whole night Feelin’ better by the minute With the curious case of Coors Light
I got home and asked my Jenny What it all could mean And that night her sweet kiss told me Love’s a lifelong dream
