I also use both, but haven't uploaded anything to Reverb Nation is a while now. Sound Cloud is just a cooler experience all the way around to me. Reverb Nation started to feel like a everybody who joined was trying to become a fan of everyone else expecting you automatically fan them back. The users of Sound Cloud seem to geniunely enjoy your music if they follow you and the dialogue between other writers there is much more comfortable and real feeling to me.

Their waveform display with timed comments is brilliant. The HTML5 players was necessary to truly make sure your stuff is accessable across all players.

And I've found that professionals scour SoundCloud sometimes looking for material. I was contacted out of the blue by one of the larger ad agencies in LA. They were looking for a trailer piece and couldn't find anything that worked through their normal channels. It was the day before Thanksgiving and this ad guy was going to have to work through the holiday if he couldn't find the right music, so he told me he started searching Sound Cloud for trailer music. He found one of my peices and got in touch requesting a full wav version. I'm not so sure that poeple could even do something like that on Reverb Nation, because the search functions aren't that fleshed out.

Anyhow, I still use both but prefer Sound Cloud.

If you prefer, you can show your sets first (which you can re-arrange your tracks within) to viewers of your page. If I recall correctly, I was able to do this even before I upgraded to premium. Excuse me if you already know this, but the procedure is:

1. Click on your: "You" tab
2. Next to "Your things" click on "View your public profile"
3. There's a cog on this page that (when you hover over it) says: "change what peole see first"

It really was cool. You can imagine how shocked I was. I got the email at 10 at night. He had his wave file by 10:10. I checked out the website of the company and they are pretty damned big. I haven't heard back from him and he explained that they throw a lot of options at their editors so its a crap shoot. But he did ask me to send him any other music that I had available and they would keep it in their pile. And my piece went straight to the editor that same night.
So yeah, soundcloud!

I switched to Soundcloud from RN a few months ago for two reasons:

1) I can create sets for different genre pieces. Like most folks on this forum, I have a wide range of styles and a LOT of tracks posted (40+ right now). Creating groups avoids the problem of having your catalog look like a big vomity mess.

2) The tracks are easier to link to and embed on my website.

There were a few other things I didn't like much about RN (fees, storage, cluttered layout) but the two above were the most important.
