A group of TAXI members in LA started a "hang" early last year. At the Rally in November I spoke to some of the Nashville members about starting a similar hang in Nashville.

We have set the date of Friday March 9th as our first gathering.

I know there are members in Nashville that do not frequent the Forum, so help in identifying those members will be appreciated.

Good luck with the Nashville Hang!

We just celebrated our "1-year Anniversary" with the L.A. Hang group last night. We hope other places think about starting a "TAXI Hang" for songwriters and composers. It really is like a Mini TAXI Rally each month -- but you don't lose your voice!

I was fortunate to attend last months LA hang and all I can say is what a supportive, smart and success oriented group it is! It was a blast and a great shot in the arm for me! We stayed up way too late (some of us anyway!)

Having a support system is so important to what we do. It's great to see this popping up in other places!

Chuck - way to go!! The Composer Hang out here is fantastic. For those interested in having one in your town, this is kinda what we do here, if it helps in getting you started. We meet around 7pm the First Friday of each month at someones house, (changes each month) - we either do a "potluck" dinner (everyone brings a dish of something) or order out, and everyone pitches in with a donation so the host doesn't carry the entire expense of the eve. We usually "BYOB" if we drink wine or beer, We socialize for the first hour or so, eat, then discuss music business, share tips, what is and isn't working for us, etc. Last summer, we started choosing a topic(s) that we could discuss and that has been great. Do whatever works for your group - this is just what has been working for us, if it helps.

We go to a lot of different functions together now as well, where we get a chance network and "Hang" some more. I have learned so much from being a part of this group, but for me, the best thing is the friendships that have developed out of this - I feel like I have a big musical "family" here.

PS I am one of the guilty ones that stayed up WAAAY too late w/Mazz - I paid for it the next day, but it was so worth it!
