Post Horrifying Rock instrumental
Well, I decided to take a stab at this dispatch listing (no pun intended)

HORRIFYING ROCK INSTRUMENTALS a la Slipknot, Five Finger Death Punch, Mushroomhead, Otep, etc. needed by the Music Supervisor for placement in a new Horror Feature Film starring many prominent members of Metal/Rock bands. He’s looking for instrumentals that have a lot of ENERGY and SUPER-STRONG melodic themes that are MEMORABLE and UNIQUE. Production must be fresh and interesting, but NOT too overwhelming. HE SAID: “I need STRONG performances with tons of ATTITUDE. Please don’t send tracks that are effects-laden and hard to put to picture.” THINK: Chunky guitar riffs, driving bass lines, and heavy hitting drums that can provide the perfect restless tension to a Horror flick! NO VOCALS, INSTRUMENTALS ONLY! Broadcast quality is needed (excellent home recordings are fine.) You must own or control 100% of your composition and master recording. Please submit one to three instrumentals online or per CD. All submissions will be screened on a YES/NO BASIS ONLY - NO CRITIQUES FROM TAXI - and must be received no later than NOON (PST) on Monday, February 6, 2012. TAXI#D120206IN

This is the first time I've attempted to write or produce something in this style. It was pretty fun actually. Definitely not the type of stuff I normally do. Not sure if I'd have time to make any changes to it but I'm curious to get some feed back anyway.

Its on my Taxi page. Its called "Death Hath No Fury" catchy name, no?

Hi Rob,

Really cool. Sounds good to me. I'd personally wet up the guitar leads at the end a little bit, but that's probably just a taste/preference thing. Good luck! - Roger

Nice,
I hear a little Soundgarden and STP in there.
I like the guitar tone as well.
I was going to submit an instrumental called Dig In ( Dig Deep )
but I thought it might be too light.
This should get forwarded.

That's interesting. I never listen to either of those bands. I was never into them.

Thanks. I actually surprised myself on this one. As I mentioned I've never tried to produce something in this style before so I wasn't quite sure how to try and get that guitar "sound" other than tuning my six string down to where the E string is slightly looser than my guitar strap. I like the guitar sound here too.

I just checked out this track. Very cool tune but I would agree with you. Its definitely too light. Not stylistic of the artists referenced. I could certainly see it getting forwarded on the right listing though. Its well produced.

Thanks, I'm hoping too

Thanks. More ticked than horrific? Hmm, do you think it would help if I had been wearing one of those masks a la Mushroom Head or Slipknot when I recorded my tracks? Or maybe I needed to do that while I was mixing? :)

Thanks for listening and the positive comments

If you can't prove you where wearing a slipnot styled make while recording how will it ever get forwarded?

"Great production, has all the elements this listing is calling for but we will not forward without conclusive evidence that the performers were indeed attired in a horrific manner. Better luck next time" signed Screener #666
