My understanding of the screening process is they are supposed to listen to the entire song.
I heard Michael say recently on a taxi tv episode, that it was at least through the bridge, because that way they had heard all the elements of the song, though I would presume 99% of the time they would listen to the end. This was really a great song, so I don't think that was the case at all here, in fact most all of the time here I usually listen several times when doing a critique, but elsewhere I have to admit sometimes I don't give a song but the first phrase if the intro isn't too long.
