My Ex is at the "Y" Catchin' ZZZs
female country/rap
My Ex is at the “Y” Catchin’ Zzzs ©2012 Robert George BMI
Well, his secretary phoned me The one with the low-cut blouse It sure beat all, she had the gall To call me at the house I said “Sugar booger Ain’t you heard the word We done got dee-vorced Our love turned rotten and he ain’t squattin’ Or sleepin’ here no more
My ex is at the “Y” catchin’ ZZZs At least he’s got, a place to flop, a tiny cot The power of hope n prayer, three hot squares A shower n soap to share, sure it’s crowded in there Maybe it sounds inhuman, but he left no room in My heart to care He’s a cheat, he’s a sleaze Now he’s at the “Y” catchin’ ZZZs”
Well, that broad got super angry When she fin’lly got the sitch Began to yell, said “go to hell” Called me a rhymes with “witch” I said “shady lady Don’t you shout n cuss me out On my own phone You’re the skank, that he’s got to thank For his brand new home
If you ain’t sorry for your sin Maybe you and your husband can take him in But until then
My ex is at the “Y” catchin’ ZZZs At least he’s got, a place to flop, a tiny cot The power of hope n prayer, three hot squares A shower n soap to share, sure it’s crowded in there Maybe it sounds inhuman, but he left no room in My heart to care He’s a cheat, he’s a sleaze Now he’s at the “Y” catchin’ ZZZs”
Maybe he’ll regroup And rethink his life I hear they serve pea-soup Right at half-past five…

Pretty funny stuff, my favorite line is: Called me a rhymes with “witch” ... very clever!
One idea for the title, change Ex to X ... I think that would nail the X, Y, Z joke faster, immediately catches your eye.

thanks Jim...when you hear it, it'll sound like "X" but if you look at the title on a cd cover(a beautiful dream, haha), I think it needs to say "ex" to show what the song's about.

Re: My Ex is at the "Y" Catchin' ZZZs
hi Johnny...thanks for the compliment. My co-writer Cameron and I have some demos up on the page below. I hope you like 'em all but I'd recommend Calico Sundown, Rose of Sunrise, Heavy Cross to Bear, Roadside Rest and Keep This Place Off the Map. I've also got some older demos on Soundclick. It got to be a big hassle trying to upload songs there so I stopped awhile back. You might like Some of My Best Friends Are Songs, Just Enough Light, Goodwill Coat and Lead Me When I'm Lost. Shoot me a PM if you'd like to see any of the lyrics. thanks again. http://www.roadsidesongs.com/songs.htmlhttp://www.soundclick.com/bands/default ... tent=musicps i always forget to tell people this but Just Enough Light was recorded by One Night Rodeo. it's actually a very good version. It's available on iTunes.

Hey Rob/George, Got to check out your trax.. these songs are great and such contemporary quality. I actually remember callico skies I commented on it awhile ago.
Im a pop rnb funk singer/songwriter/producer and I enjoy the great craft in your country writing.
