 Shortcuts to Hit Songwriting
I ordered this book, standard shipping, got it next day...go figure! Started going through the book - extremely well organized and fun to read! I look forward to picking it up each time, and I keep it next to me in my home studio - such a great songwriter's reference. The http://www.robinfrederick.com website rocks too! Thanks Michael Laskow and Robin Frederick for partnering up and giving us a great resource. Jeff Lizerbram San Diego, CA

Where you hire someone else to write, someone else to sing, someone else to produce, someone else to play, someone else to record, someone else to master, someone else to manage, someone else to publish, someone else to distribute, someone else to advertise, someone else to write a business plan, and someone else to collect... Really, it's shorter, and you make way more money. Really! Nice to see your name again Horace. Missing ya!

Maybe... has Tiger Woods' golf coach ever won a major (or even a single PGA golf tournament)? He's written LOTS of books (in addition to coaching Tiger). Plus, Jason Blue and Kara DioGuardi certainly wouldn't endorse a publication that had no substance.

 Re: Shortcuts to Hit Songwriting
Just my two cents to add to the discussion here . . . I got the book and am through the first few chapters. Very good, clear info so far -- a bit more user friendly than some books out there. I think the "jump in and do exercises to help you understand how songs work" approach will especially be useful to new composers; so I will most likely recommend it to some of my composing students. , Suz

That's a huge understatement! The book is so friendly you can feel the life jumping off the page. You'd have to be really bull-headed to resist the urge to write a song after holding this book in your hands for only a few minutes. Congrats Robin! I'm a fan! Allen
