Congrats, Paulie!

This does bring up an interesting point though! How vital is Tunesat?
According to their advertising video on their homepage, 80% of music used on TV DOES NOT GET REPORTED TO PROs!?!?!
Surely this can't be accurate?!

I've had a few forwards, but no placements, in my first year.
Should I be using Tunesat??

Cheers.

Well done Paulie, you've put in some hard yards and are pumping out great stuff.

Congrats.

It couldn't hurt to forward the info to your PRO

I have a question about that as well... my forwards (unsigned) are all copyrighted via Library of Congress, but are not uploaded to my PRO. Since cruising the forums early on it seemed to be the general consensus that Libraries, etc. prefer to do the registration themselves...I did not want to make it any harder for a library, etc. to sign my songs...or make them want to pass over my song since its already registered. Is this incorrect? I trust the experts on these forums very much and appreciate all the help always.

I've signed up for a free 50 track account, figured it can't hurt. The prices on the paid accounts seem very high to me though.

Should take me a fair while to use the 50 though

So far the two libraries I'm working with prefer to register the stuff themselves, which is fine by me. I've also heard that TuneSat isn't a perfect science. A couple of the tracks it found were not actually mine, the drum beats were similar enough to fool the engine I guess. The proof will be when I get my first BMI statement. If I don't get one next quarter I will know that tunesat made a mistake. I also agree that the paid accounts are a little pricey for the quantity they provide. I hope to earn more royalties in a month than the service costs per month. ;-) #Babysteps
