What's on Your Bucket List?

Post by shellsings » Tue Feb 12, 2013 1:20 pm

I was thinking on Monday things I have always wanted to do... they are not all musical... but it would be fun to get to know each other even more by sharing the things on our bucket list...

What have you always wanted to do? What are you afraid to do, but still want to? Write it down...THEN DO THEM!!! I just started thinking about mine.. Not in any particular order:

1. Visit Australia
2. African Safari
3. Do a Sprint Triathalon
4. Win a Grammy (Hell, several Grammies)
5. Go Tornado Chasing (Torandos scare the bejesus out of me)
6. Take a summer off and take a cross country trip
7. Run naked through the streets of Parliament... (ok, not really lol)
8. Be involved in something completely life changing for someone else (not sure what this will be)
9. Fly Fish in Alaska
10. Be a performing multi instrumentalist and self sufficient recording songwriter for Film and TV
11. Take trips to visit the various musical hot beds, meet new people and do some co-writing
12. Take a year off and just see where life takes me (or just go play the uke at some remote beach island somewhere)

What's on yours???

love your list!
Every year I do my goals for the rest of my life, 5 years out and for the next year. There are about 100. Some of yours are the same as mine. (Win a Grammy is one, hey, gotta set the bar high, or you'll never know!). Another is visit every country in the world. Depending on how you define countries (one way is the number of countries in the UN, or at the Olympics), there are approximately 180 to 200 countries in this world (and it does change from time to time). So far I've hit about 50, so I have my work cut out for me. Hope to accelerate my pace soon...

All the best!

Mardi Gras. You can listen in, here: http://www.wwoz.org/listen/player/ I'd like to be invited to the Grammies. I'd like to release a solo record and play on a paddle-wheel riverboat, and I'm on track to make that happen in the next year or two.

Other than that, I've done most of what I once dreamed I'd do. I played with some of Chicago's finest blues musicians, on the Grand Ole Opry stage and for Prince Charles and Princess Margaret, had my own personal A-list groupie for a number of years (didn't work out so well) and I maybe shoulda just dated the Penthouse model instead of marrying her, I guess. It's probably a lil' late in life for winning the Indy 500 or scoring a touchdown in the Super Bowl, but it ain't a bad life; I'll take it. :D

ADDENDUM: Yeah, it would also be way cool if I could write one really good song; I don't believe I've done that, yet. :D

Travel, travel, travel! I've been to most of the 50 states, but still need to see Alaska and Hawaii. PLUS, I've never been to Europe, or elsewhere on this grand planet. My bro-in-law said once that "Life isn't a dress rehearsal," and he's right. Ya gotta do it NOW if you can!

More later after I think about it....

Best,

Ern 8-) :)

Find all the kids that I've fathered (that I know about) and just drop in and say hi.

Oh! and wave at Shell while I am running the other way through Parliament!.... (note to self, find Parliament)
