Power of sound

Post by sethlit » Tue Apr 10, 2012 10:03 pm

This has been circulating on facebook as of late, so some of you might have already seen it. But I thought I'd share just in case.
Yet ANOTHER reason why music is so important. I found this incredible:

I played old Niel Diamond songs on my acoustic for my mother-in-law for years in the nursing home and yes it does work.

Choked me up a bit seeing this, which is a good thing.

Thanks much

Paul

Thanks Seth:

Music is such a powerful thing. It can reach deep down into one's soul

I read somewhere that entertainment is America's second largest export.

I could understand why.

Also, it's good to bring out that fact when those business people tell us how unrealistic us artist types are!
Success is failure analyzed

Sometimes the truth feels good. Sometimes bad. But it's always good for us.

The world's greatest music was written without the technology we have today.

Thanks so much for sharing this!!! I'm doing a presentation on vibrational, sound, and musical healing this weekend, and there will likely be some skeptics in the room. I'm planning to show this. As I just posted on FBook...and just as I needed a not-so-little reminder...I feel so lucky to have been bestowed with a musical gift. It helps me to remember why I'm here!

thanks again...may all the world know and experience the power of music, even thru a gentle old soul like this man!

Peace Out, Jordy

One of my favorite books is a tiny one called A Little Book of Coincidence by John Martineau. It talks about the harmonies and rhythms of the planets and shows the musical harmonics and scales represented by the orbits and relationships of the planets to each other - Pythagorean's "music of the spheres" later proven by Kepler in 1596 and again in 1968 by Molchanov. Fascinating stuff.

Today science has string theory, the basic element of stuff - below the atom - below the electron, quark, quan, etc., is microscopic landscape of wavy strings of sound. Kind of full circle back to the music of the spheres.

The Youtube video looks like an astonishing event, but it is really simply proof of our existance as beings who resonate to music. The man was profoundly correct - it is the sound of love and it is the essence of healing.

On a more serious side of our music, Teft made about fifty pieces of meditative music based on the harmonics of the planets. They seemed to resonate with people, and have found their way into a few university psychology classes for the study of sound healing. Yes, they are proving evidence of music healing, but what is so delightful about the video is it clearly shows it doesn't matter what form the music is. It all invites us to raise our eyes up and experience life again.
