I always wonder with great sounding plugins like this......could this be replicated using a couple of plugins that I already have....or is it a case of this plugin would earn its keep by saving so much time.

hmmm...would an enhancer and multiband comp replicate it.

Think I will demo and check it out.

it would be interesting to hear what you think.

yes I agree, this looks like something that can be achieved using a combination of plugins.

likely something like an enhancer on an aux send from your vocal track followed by an eq. if you had that setup as a template in your DAW or something your could import to each session that would be pre-set then you might not spend much extra time.

I liked the sound on the demo video on the voices, and the percussion was okay, and the guitar was horrible. but thats just my taste.

Is some ways it has similar qualities to the air band on the Maag eq. different sure, but I hear some similarities in the high end hype.

Boy, I could use this plugin immediately, but the price seems a little steep. If it was $50, I'd get it today.

I like the idea of this, but the examples sound a little harsh to my ears. :o

I heard this too, but it looks like you can adjust which frequencies get boosted and control the level of harshness. I've noticed that most product demos are not characterized by subtlety. :)

Minus the compressor, it doesn't seem unlike the fabfilter simplon for $64. The full version volcano is $139

http://www.fabfilter.com/products/simpl ... er-plug-in

simplon=low pass, hi pass filter 12/24/48db/octave slopes
vocal enhancer=low pass, hi pass 12/24db per octave

I think it's a case of the tools to achieve these sounds are built into most basic DAW software.... (Limiters, comps, eqs, filters) BUT they have created a tool to make it simple. If you aren't able to create to vocals the way you want then sometimes these plugins can really speed up production time. I use a lot of the Nomad Factory blue tube plugins, but even with a more expensive set of tools I can often achieve similar results with the built in plugins in Cubase. Just takes more time :)!

I think the harshness of the sound is simply them being a bit over the top with the saturation in order to give clear examples of the software results. Could be a really nice tool, but yeah I agree the price is a bit much for such a simple plugin.

Bob Katz has some thoughts.

I could get close to replicating but no cigar.... I will have another attempt.
