I got returns for the strip club stuff. They said my vocals and lyrics were too generic and not raunchy enough.
They have a sound in mind and if you hit all the buttons, a forward is on the way.

nice success story. this is often true; getting a breakthrough just when you feel like giving up. is it a reflection of learning and crafting more tightly on your part, of trying to more pointedly fulfill the listing as written? or, luck; or some other reason i can't think of

Thanks, Rich. I'm surprised you didn't get a forward for this listing. I've listened to your stuff before and you definitely have some good gritty rock that I would have thought would have been a good match.

Wen, I think that it is just a matter of listings that called for songs that I already had in my portfolio as good recordings of good performances. I have yet to write/record for a specific listing, though I plan to do that in the future. Also, many of my returns were for listings for artists rather than music libraries or TV shows. The bar seems to be higher for those. For example, one of the songs that got forwarded, "Make You Famous," was returned for a listing or two that I submitted for artists where the reason was something like "it's good, but just not such an obvious hit that it will take the artist to a higher level of success that they've already attained."
