I hope Kelil lets us know how he fared in his attempt. Your personal thoughts on the matter are yours to hold. CHEERS!

Excuse me? You're telling me to not post my thoughts? I'm sorry... It doesn't work that way.

Kelil is very welcome to let us know how he "fared" with his refund request. Personally, I think it would be a big insult to every other Taxi member if he got such a refund (unless it was coupled with a "Don't let the door kick you in the ass on the way out" as well). But that's just me.

hey Couldbeworking, don't know you, I'm sure your a cool dude taht tells jokes, just don't know what you have offered in this thread in regards to the listings etc other than sound like a back seat fraggle rock heckler to the help offered, no offence. Just that's how you read.

I understand it could read as I am upset at Stephen , but not realy, more looking out for a guy we have grown to know and offered help to over the past year.

All the best

Rob

Hi Sedge, Hey I didn't tell Casey not to post his thoughts, only that I respect his right to hold 'em. His apology wasn't at all necessary. And I'm not sure K's asking for help so much as he's asking for a refund. I suppose he'll clarify if he posts here again.

Hey! I e-mailed but to be honest I doubt a refund is in order. More like a cooling down is in order. Who cares about the listing. I honestly dont care anymore. And no taxi doesnt treat its members like dawgs. I'm just ranting like a spoilt child.

Sorry for all the rants and insults.

@sedge: your rant at me was very funny and i say that in a good non insulting way. Your frustration just leapt off the page. :lol: RWOAR very Rock'n'Roll ;)

@Casey: Your post was also extreme and I bet you was pounding that keyboard. Also very Rock'n'Roll :lol:

Lets end the thread on a peaceful and happy note. Next time I see a la vocals I'll just ''assume'' they mean the musical style of those bands too. Simple as simple does. I dont hate taxi. For heavens sake I brought my uncle here for five year membership. I promote my taxi page everywhere and invite all the competition I can find. But as always when I get annoyed I see a red mist and nothing else. Takes about 7 pages of a forum for me to calm down.

Peace and God bless for the New year.

Stephen

Wow. This is one crazy thread! Why is it that these kind of 'discussions' seem to go on and on and on and on and on.

I'll say two things.

1) Stephen. You are an incredibly talented artist but please understand that you are not going to get forwarded on every single listing you submit to! That's a fact you're going to have to face. No matter how great your song and no matter how on target you think it is, it's not going to be right for every listing! It just isn't.

2) I believe that it's the season of peace and goodwill too all so... c'mon. Chill out dude. :) You're going to lose the support of a great community of very hard-working, talented and generous artists if you're not careful.

:)

Happy New Year to you and to everyone tuning in!

Mark

I'm so glad to have read all that and have it end on @Kelil's final post. I agree that the listing could've been interpreted either way, but that's really a question of grammar and, on a music/music business forum doesn't warrant a 7 page discussion with frayed edges and seemingly boiling tempers! If you could take something away from it maybe it should be to eMail Taxi/post on the forum and have them clarify whenever you're unsure about a certain listing BEFORE it comes to this. ;)

With reference to the original listing and the screener's return, there's one thing that seems to have been missed. I hold with you that your music/mixes etc are very CURRENT sounding and done to a very high standard, but the arrangements, melodies and other musical elements are ALL very RETRO, even if it is a MODERN RETRO sound. The listing advises tracks can contain "RETRO hints" before reminding you that it "should most definitely be CURRENT", and all of this comes after the very very crucial "Please listen to the references!". Noticing that last line might've saved you this frustration.

I think that 'She Blew Me Away' track is brilliant (I'm sure I've said so on the forums before), but you'll be better off admitting to yourself that it just doesn't fit this listing.

I doubt there's that many people on this forum that are genuinely above ranting about returns btw, me included. But in general anything like this on an internet forum (in whatever subject/context) always comes across as an uncomfortable rant. Try doing what I do, letting off steam down the pub while scowling bitterly at strangers. That way, in the morning it's off your chest and it really does mean nothing. ;)

I really love that track, keep submitting it. :)

Youth, inexperience, and being human. Embrace it, one of these days you'll need a dose of viagra to get excited about anything,lol!

As one who has been accused of being able to argue with a fence post, the one thing I know you can't argue with is someone's opinion. You might be persuasive with facts, but unless you are good at brainwashing and mind control, it's futile. You might be able to debate and negotiate on the business side of "the entertainment business", but not the "art" side. Imo, by asking for a refund, you have disrespected the screener's opinion, a rather "highly respected" opinion at that.

Fwiw, I recently lost a singing contest, and I am one of the best singers I know,lol, and three of the four judges couldn't carry a tune in a bucket, but unless I could have twisted their arms until they told me I was the greatest, even then it probably wouldn't have changed their real opinion,lol, I accept and respect their opinions. Not because I wanted to, but because there wasn't any recourse listed in "The Serenity Prayer",lol! :lol:

"God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference..."
