Hey all! This is my first post here. I was a Taxi member a few years ago, got discouraged & then signed up again in June (guess I'm just a glutton for punishment!). I've had better success this time around having 9 songs forwarded since June, but haven't heard anything back from any of them. BUT I really feel like I accomplished something on my last forward because it was written just for the listing (dispatch #D070119AA). If there had been time there are a lot of things I would have changed (too much cheap reverb, bass is too "washy", etc.) Maybe not having time to tweak can be a good thing sometimes! Anyway, If I've done this correctly I've posted a link to the song if anyone cares to listen. - bill http://www.broadjam.com/transmit/transm ... yhgbndsq=1

Hey Bill, congrats for the forwards! Keep on working & improving and things will come aroundJust listened to your song: I like your singing, although it has a little bit too much reverb on the voice. I thing a weak point in the song is the timing: it's not really thight, and that is irritating.hope that helps, cheers, Martin

Re: A First!
Yeah, there's too much reverb on everything. The timing issue I think comes from the bass. I flanged out my bass and tried to make it sound like an upright and intentionally played "loose" trying to emulate that Van Morrison Astral Weeks vibe. I knew afterwards that I could have improved things alot but didn't have time. My voice just sucks, but thanks anyway! Some people bitch because they can't understand how their "great" songs weren't forwarded, I'm on the opposite side . . . I've actually been surprised that a couple of my tunes were forwarded, this being one of them.

I've heard the timing issue in other sections/instruments too (guitars, shaker/highs). They're also panned in the stereofield and that makes it more hearable too.

Re: A First!
I guess my timing is just bad . . . but hey, I didn't forward it!
