Great Voice and the background Vocals are superb. Reminds me of The Gatlin Brothers.

This is really good- great country voice and evocative lyrics.

If you are done with the song, I would suggest maybe titling in "Somewhere only we Know" just to more clearly match the chorus, which you want to stick in people's heads?

If you want to work on the song some more, I would suggest maybe repeat the chorus again instead of going to that key change on the next verse. I think it's good to make sure that chorus gets stuck in people's heads, even if you have to sacrifice a verse. I like the idea of the key change- I'm just not sure it's in the right place. The chorus seems to me to be very important in Country music these days- it's almost like the verses are just to give some contrast and set up the pre-chorus- all leading up to the HUGE chorus.

Just my opinion- I am no kind of country-music or song-writing expert.

Best,

Vince

Enjoyed your song, Bill!
Though there are some lines that don't rhyme, I honestly didn't miss the rhyme.
Enjoyed the modulation after the 2nd verse!
I felt you painted the Summer place perfectly!
Did you record it yourself?
Thanks for sharing!

Great tune and thanks for posting it. My ears only get better the more I listen to other's styles and talents.

Nice voice and great talent at melody writing. I have some fun ideas to share in case you are considering edits. To my ears these would
make it a more engaging tune with more emotional pay offs for the listener.

To my ears I heard the awesome chorus payoff at 1:03 but then I had to wait 2 1/2 minutes for it to come on back(@3:35). I was hoping it was coming back in at 2:15.

2:01-2:15 musically sounded like a loosely structured pre-chorus that my ears were hoping would lead to Chorus 2.

3:22-3:34 is a fantastic powerhouse prechorus(energy, melody, strong melodic rhythm), if you agree why not repeat it(musically, even if different lyrics)
in place of the prechorus I previously mentioned at 2:01.

Fantastic work!

Roger
