AAA/Alt Rock/Indie Pop Instrumental Listing

Post by bigbluebarry » Sun Oct 19, 2008 3:20 pm

Here's the listing:CURRENT-SOUNDING,RADIO READY AAA/ALT ROCK/INDIE POP INSTRUMENTALS in the range of Editors, Arctic Monkeys, Dirty Pretty Things, Franz Ferdinand, Snow Patrol, Bloc Party, Cold War Kids, The Libertines, Babyshambles, The Strokes, Muse, etc. are wanted by a very successful Production Music Library who has placements with ABC, CBS, NBC, WB, Disney, Discovery, Lifetime, Fox, USA, etc. (to name just a few). They want songs that build and grow, with melodic and dynamic variation. You may consider editing down a full-length song in order to avoid long sections of repetition, since this company NEEDS to have tracks that are changing & building constantly. You can submit tracks that range between 1-4 minutes in length and be sure there are NO VOCALS on these tracks. They want material that sounds like it could be on the radio, but will only be interested in Instrumental versions for this listing. Broadcast quality is necessary, though excellent home recordings should be fine. Please submit 1-3 Instrumentals online or per CD. All submissions will be screened on a YES/NO BASIS - NO CRITIQUES FROM TAXI - and must be received no later than October 29, 2008. Here's the link:I Said Too Much - http://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_ ... m=trueThis is slightly new territory for me, trying the indie rock stuff that is. Am I close? - Big Blue UPDATE: I made a few tweaks to the song and re-uploaded it. I cut the intro in half, brought the piano up a bit, and held the strings out until the 2nd verse (instead of the 1st verse).

Hey Big Blue. It's kind of tough (at least for me) to think of these ala groups in terms of instrumentals. I can offer no idea as to wheteher or not this fits for the listing, but I can tell you that it sounds good! Sorry I can't offer more help-

Love the flavor of this tune, production sounds good and with some vocals this could be a good indy/pop tune as well (i'm sure you've thought of that already!). Intro seems abit long or maybe just too simple for my ears. Once we got into it I had to smile, the music forced it and that was a very good sign imo... Cool tune. '-) wta
Music is like oxygen, you can live without it but not for very long...

Thanks Bill and wta... I just uploaded a revised version of the track. The intro is half as long now, the piano is a bit louder (not much), and the strings don't come in until the 2nd verse now.And yep, already got plans for some vocals. Once my co-writer and I finish recording our Easter project we'll tackle this one. Thanks again,Big Blue
