Sounds a lot lot better, although I think the mix balance is not quite right so you might wanna work on that some more and the piano is a little flat / dull for me but I think you're getting there and could possibly be onto a winner.

I did a cue recently for a Taxi friendly Library where they wanted some Mexican influence, it's for a reality show so it's more of a hybrid / crossover than a traditional sounding cue. I'd not done one like it before so I had my work cut out and had to get researching as I'm more of an EDM kinda guy.

It's here if you wanna listen https://soundcloud.com/cosmicdolphin/el ... -4/s-I5hGx

I like that cue, I can hear your EDM influence for sure and almost regaeton.

I submitted this and interestingly I'm not sure the Taxi screeners really understand this style.

The submission was 100% live horns (2 trumpets and 2 bones) and live percussion (timbalese, guiro, congas etc.) and piano was played live. Still got the "this track is quantized and synthy :( The bass was the only thing "midi" and it was not quantized and played live with keyboard (none of the tracks are quantized at all).

Oh well. Here is a link to the submitted version.

Hi John,

I think what may be throwing the screeners is the lack of low end in the horns... and reverb on the whole mix.
That could be making it sound midi.
I would think these were midi horns....

Also..the percussion is so perfect...I would be inclined to think it is not real!

Excellent work!

Thanks Tim!
I'll work on the mix. Are you saying I need reverb on the whole mix? I'm guessing that's what you're saying, just want to be clear.

I can't help that I have access to the best Cuban percussionists in the world :D He has played with the who's who of Cuban music and time is their thing.

Yes... a good reverb on everything...

I love the TC electronics VSS3 reverb on an aux input with the whole thing going thru it.
The plugin version is great for this!

I'd agree with the reverb.
