I have been reading the posts here on addictive drums, because I am looking to dabble in drum programming. I have been using the old school method of a drum kit and about 8 mics for my drum sound....Guess I am showing my age...
Anyway, Sweetwater has this on sale until March 31 for $99.00.....

I finally got AD and was thrilled to hear that it sounds a lot better in reality than the demos led me to believe. There's a wonderful sonic presence to the drums, and I haven't even begun to delve into the mixing and processing capabilities. I'm so glad to have learned about this (I think originally from MojoBone).

Now it's time to write some loud music!

Here are a couple of cool (and short) YouTube vids about Addictive Drums; the first compares General MIDI, EZDrummer and AD, the second shows AD in action with a triggers kit.

This one demonstrates the chokes and the range of sounds:

Alright Mojobone,
Appreciate the links !!!! I just purchased AD yesterday and installed it on my two recording computers. I learned enough about it to set up the outputs of the studio desktop computer, and listen to the demo beats on each machine. It sounds good, I can work with it, but there is going to be a pretty good learning curve for me..........

Can anyone confirm or not if AD is 64Bit? I don't think that it is. Is anyone using it in Logic in 64Bit? Does it work ok? I haven't had great luck with the Logic 32bit Bridge. But all of my goto plugs (Sprectrasonics, Kontakt) are 64bit native, so it isn't much of an issue for me.

Thanks -

My drums of choice as well. I have never been disappointed. Thanks for the additional tips.

Kel,

AD is only 32 bit at this point. I am running it under JBridge in Sonar 8.5 64 bit with no issues.

JBridge is a third party wrapper that is usually recommended if the wrapper in your DAW has issues with a particular plug in.

Jes' popped in from the Arcade Fire/Indie drums thread to mention to my fellow ADers that there are some kickass (and free!) Punk Rock presets available on XLN Audio's site. (also Metal and Hiphop presets) I don't know how they got the same drum samples to sound so trashy, but I'll be digging through the parameters to find out, heh. There are also some matching MIDIPaks of grooves available for purchase.
