Which I did, and am thoroughly satisfied with the Retro kits, though a few more snares might have been nice. (the handclaps have already come in very er, handy) Check out XLN's new Session Percussion bundle: http://www.xlnaudio.com/products/view/44

New Black Velvet Addictive Drums ADPak available, and also as a bundle with some great new MIDI loops; I'll be adding both to my arsenal as soon as possible. Check 'em out here: http://www.xlnaudio.com/products/view/42

Just downloaded Black Velvet yesterday--my BOGO when I picked up Jazz Brushes, which I haven't had a chance to try yet--and HOLY COW does it sound great. Not quite as "natural" as Indie (which is my absolute favorite for a natural-sounding room tone), but for raucous rock it's incredible. I dropped it into a hard rock project and was blown away. I did wind up backing the change out--I wanted the track to "match" another track in the project--but no question that the sound was totally kick-ass.

Some of the presets are a bit silly, and there aren't very many, but overall, big thumbs up for Black Velvet.

Black Velvet and Indie are good Adpaks and MidiPaks. Actually I've not heard a one that I consider disappointing so depends on the project you are using it for.

Hello,

I'm glad I found this post. I had no idea it was here. Sometime ago I was really interested in what everyone was thinking about Addictive Drums. I still think XLN products are great. Now I'm liking what I get from Apple's Drummer. I don't think my ear is that great to tell but that's the way I'm hearing it. I found this on a search for "Layering in Samples" because on a mutual post it was spoken about.

I hope everyone is doing great.

It's the head!

Thanks,

Alan

Brace yourselves, a new version of Addictive Drums is about to come online. I don't know much, but apparently, there'll be new functionality for ADPaks already purchased. A word to the wise, is said to be sufficient. ;)

Love Addictive Drums. If I read right though and you are a Pro Tools users, aax format only which means you have to own PT 11 to use it.

PT 10 can utilize AAX format plugins.

for earlier versions there are likely legacy installers that will install RTAS.
