Another one!

Post by mazz » Thu Oct 18, 2007 1:25 pm

Just got my second forward to the same company. No calls yet but I'd love to land this one! Here's the one that just got forwarded:SUSPENSEFUL & ACTION-ORIENTED ORCHESTRAL INSTRUMENTALS (no vocals) a la the soundtracks to the films "The Natural" (Randy Newman) and "Gladiator" (Hans Zimmer) are sought by the Music Supervisor of a major cable TV sports networkhttp://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_id=63724&stream=1(I changed the snare drum part and made it less complex, I think it helped)Here's the first one that got forwarded to this same client, different listing:High-energy, up-tempo INDUSTRIAL ROCK INSTRUMENTALS are again wanted by a major cable TV network for various shows that include sports footage/highlights. http://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_ ... am=1Trying to stay cool, See ya'll at the rally!!! I was wondering how that gladiator thing was going to work out for you. Glad to see it got the forward, yay!!So how'd you pull off the metal guitar on the industrial tune? Is that you playing? Well done, mazz, congratulations!

I got some feedback from my composition teacher/guru about the gladiator piece and I'm glad I obeyed (change the snare drum Grasshopper!).The metal guitar is from Virtual Guitarist, I used the keyswitches to change up the patterns. I don't play any guitar except for an A chord, but damn, it's a pretty nice A chord if you give me a minute or so to get my fingers in the right places! I've played with lots of good guitarists and listenend to more guitar than keyboards coming up so I think I have a bit of a feel for how a part should flow. Maybe I'm kidding myself. Ciao,Mazz

Hey Mazz...these tracks are great...congrats on the forwards and hope for the deal!.I was just on the phone with a film director friend of mine, and your Gladiator track was playing. He asked to hear it and he loved it. He really liked all of the 'hits' that you had in that piece. He cuts video to music, not music to video. All of those 'hits' are opportunities for him to change scenes...for him the more 'hits' the better.Just passing that along.Congrats again,Charlie

Thanks Charlie. I'm glad your friend liked the piece. I probably don't need to mention that it's available for licensing!! I've worked with directors that like to cut to music and it's a great way of working.Mazz

Hey mazz, thanks for the heads up on the guitar parts. I play, but my days of spending on freakin' pedals, boxes and electrics are over. I only own a resonator now to play slide with and do some picking on weirder tunes. Nice to know it's out there. I coulda used it on this one tune I'm working on, alas....... And hey, see how your music's getting out there? You da man!
