Hey thanks everyone for checking out the track! This was one of my only instrumentals and it's one of my favorite all time recordings. To answer some of your Qs: for the acoustic I think i used the standard set up, one mic on the 12th fret, another on the bridge and used the delay. The electric guitar my good friend Carlos - I had the song recorded before hand and I told him the idea of the song: to make you feel like you're in Rosarito, Mexico at night - the hustling, loud music pumping from every window, dark corners, the feeling of constantly watching your back, a sketchy back-alley unsafe feeling. Then I told him to GO OFF and play anything. And, I didn't play him the song first, the first time he heard it we were recording. (Sort of like being in Mexico, you can't prepare for it, you just have to use your insticts. I think that's what made the song work.) What you hear is the first 2 takes, sometimes together. And yes he used octave and wah. peaceJ

Wow! I love it. It sounds sort of melancholic and ominous...very different!

This is freaky good! Sad but in a very dark way. Interesting the screeners were willing to forward something this uniquely different. Brilliant. This belongs in a Tarentino flick IMO.
