The demands also require a good working knowledge of percussion, from back beat to big promo sounds. All Themes and Promo Jingles will be proprietary and exclusive...." I have some stuff, just not sure if it is big enough for this listing. Sounds like they want some monster tunes, or am I reading it wrong...

Watch some daytime soaps. A friend of mine - David Thompson placed some cuts on 'Days of Our Lives' listen to him at www.myspace.com/davidthompsonriderLots of metal thrashing seems to me...I happened to turn on the TV to Days and the theme was lots of fast guitar licks.David uses local talent and his living room as his recording studio. He was forwarded by TAXI.le Hook

Watch a certain famous daytime talk show and listen to the promos for upcoming shows, etc. That should give you a clue as to what the listing is looking for.

imagine if John Williams and Trent Reznor met at Bernard Hermann's for lunch and Brian Eno was the head chef!

Don't watch TV. Especially Day Time. Are we talking about something that rhymes with Dope Brah?

Steve, it's a Dispatch listing:SERIOUS INSTRUMENTAL PROMO AND THEME COMPOSERS NEEDED by a Music Producer who provides a large portion of the music for a major Daytime TV show. He has several TAXI composers under his roof already and has had thousands of placements on this show in the last year which resulted in generating thousand of dollars per year in TV licensing income for these composers. He would like to contract experienced composers who will be able to write instrumental themes and promo jingles as necessary. The ideal composer will be able to write promo cues and themes, as well as have knowledge of various styles including Hip Hop/Americana/Rock/Blues/Funk. While he would like to find composers who have experience in a variety of styles, please only submit THEME INSTRUMENTALS and PROMO JINGLE samples for this particular listing. Submissions can range from :30 sec cues to full instrumental themes no longer than 1:00. The demands also require a good working knowledge of percussion, from back beat to big promo sounds. All Themes and Promo Jingles will be proprietary and exclusive. This composer must be able to work as a team player, take direction and deliver on time. He needs someone who uses high quality samples and has state-of-the-art equipment. He's definitely looking for a "pro" and not someone who works during the day, as he'll need you to be available for quick turnaround assignments and same day edits when necessary. He'd like someone with experience with syncing to tape. You must also be based in the United States - he cannot work with international composers for this particular project due to business hours of the client. All submissions need to be Broadcast Quality. Please make sure to include your discography and all music experience in your Bio. Please submit two to three instrumentals online or per CD, include Bio. All submissions will be screened on a YES/NO BASIS - NO CRITIQUES FROM TAXI - and must be received no later than 4:00pm (PST) on Tuesday, June 23, 2009. TAXI #D090623IN
