Anyone have notes?!

Hearing great things about Ronan Chris Murphy's compression class. I was at another session. If there are any prolific note-takers out there... PM me!

I'm going to use these videos to aid with my note taking from the class. There was so much to intake.

Hi Anna, my note taking is cryptic so I will just explain some of the big take-aways from this class in a few posts as time permits
first let me say that Ronan is a fan of "Loud and Proud" in the topic of the loudness wars ...
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loudness_war ...
https://www.soundonsound.com/sound-advi ... udness-war ...
Ronan used audio tracks to explain when and where as well as why to use compression in a mix ... so having the notes may be helpful but not the same as being there.

First big take away ... Question: Do you use compression on individule tracks or the final mix "Yes and Yes"
If your tracks are edited and ready to mix comression is a great tool.

Here is the closest article I could find to explain some of the things He covered ... https://www.soundonsound.com/techniques ... -made-easy

More later ... /color]
