Autotunes/T-Pain question

Post by mmr3 » Sat Mar 28, 2020 6:18 am

hi,

a quick question to all veterans here: using autotunes/t-pain effect in vocals/rap for the listings here on Taxi: "forbidden" / "allowed" / "avoidable" / "ok"?

what are your experiences?

thanks!

hi, it depends!

does the Listing call for TPain style vocals?

then that's what you deliver!

hope that helps :)

and good for you for asking!

hi Jay!

I heard about autotunes, that it should be avoided, submitting rap parts with this effect to opportunities in general, so I was not sure.

thanks for your help!

Listen to the reference tracks...if they give you Lil baby, Roddy Rich and Drake and they are all using some form of autotune, then you want to take the common elements of all the references & apply to your song. The references are the guide. Hope that helps.
