Axiom Keyboard Suddenly Stops Wor....k..i...n......

Post by steveprobst » Thu Dec 14, 2023 3:02 pm

My M-Audio axiom 61 keyboard stopped triggering midi in logic after years wonderful service.
I'm pretty sure it's a keyboard issue since another old m-audio 25 works fine on imac as well as macbook? The 61 works on neither.
Keyboard reset didn't help. Did I mute something?
Please help-the orchestra is silent!

If these are dumb questions, forgive me but:
1.) Did you download and install the latest M-Audio drivers for your controller?? (Yes, they even still have them for MAC I believe)
2.) Did you recently update the OS on your machine? (#1 would solve this as well...)
3.) Did you update to the very latest version of Logic Pro? (10.8 I believe..) I have heard that one might have to do a full MIDI reset with this big update (I haven't conjured up the guts to upgrade to Sonoma OR Logic 10.8 yet! lol)
I am on an old M-Audio CODE 61, MAC OS Ventura, and Logic Pro 10.7.9, and have had no issues, so try the above, and hope this helps

There's a free app called midi monitor, and there's also an online version (just search for midi monitor online). All what it does, is to make sure the midi controller is transmitting info, this is where I would start, to see where the problem is. It could be just a cable that gone wrong, a few keys, or the whole controller
