Baby Grand Piano Donation ** SCAM ALERT **
A piano-teacher friend of mine has gotten 8 emails with nearly identical language. She spoke with another teacher who had deeper interactions with the scammers. Here is a sample of the email :
"I have a Baby grand piano which I'm looking to give away to a passionate music lover. Let me know if you will be interested or know someone who might be interested. It used to be owned and played by my late Husband. I'm moving my properties, I'm settling for a home of lesser space, so I'm hoping to give it out to someone who is a passionate lover of the instrument."
The catch - you can't use your own piano movers. She has it in storage, so you have to contact the moving/storage company the she used and PRE-PAY them around $600. Then *poof* -- no piano ever arrives.
Yeah, I guess "if it's too good to be true....."
