Beach Boys for 60s?

I can hear 'em now: "60s yeah, but not the Beach Boys for cryin' out loud!." Oh well, too late.

Music Supervisor (who is screening all submissions herself) U-R-G-E-N-T-L-Y NEEDS AUTHENTIC sounding Mid-1960s sounding SONGS for FEATURE FILM Placements. The film needs "songs that sound AUTHENTICALLY from that era," reports the Supervisor. She adds, "Some examples I've been given are: Roger Miller's 'King of the Road,' Bobby Darrin's 'If I Were a Carpenter,' and anything by Elvis from that period." Get your Wooly Bully on kids, but note that they're NOT LOOKING FOR COVERS! And we're not suggesting for a minute that you should rip any of those classics off. But, if you've got songs that sound like they could have AUTHENTICALLY come from that era, and would be believable in a scene where somebody is turning a car radio dial and flipping past songs, you probably have what they need! ALL TEMPOS will be considered, but ballads probably won't be best in our humble opinion - not enough time to register with listeners as the radio stations are being passed by.

Not sure what happened! On my page it's still waiting for the "chipmunks" to process it. I submitted it, but the play button isn't there yet. It's never taken this long before. Hopefully it will still be considered "on time." Lot of Taxi bugs lately, right?

I thought over all a great tune and very beach boy sounding...falsetto was great ...lead vocal was good although i kept wanting to hear Mike Love...instrumentation and arrangement and production also quite good...i could tell a lot went into the mix....good job ...hope it places somewhere...I think it's good enough ...(but then again...i like everything)..nice work on this Paul

I'm with ya, Fret17. I'm a huge BB fan, and even though Mike's typically considered the weaker singer of the group, I really wanted to hear his voice, too. Hell, I'm a pale imitation of all of them, but I really had a great time doing it. Sort of a tribute, I guess.
