Bluesy Solo Guitar - Thoughts please
Hi,
I didn't write this one for anything in particular, just felt it
Any critiques would be great, I think the ending may need something...
I'll have it in case something comes up
Thanks for listening "Cold Blue Rain" 3/4 time

Re: Bluesy Solo Guitar - Thoughts please
Had my ears thinking of a cross between SRV & Robben Ford (shows you how old my ears are... ).
Don't have a clue what the ending 'needs' - but was Jonesin' for some swirly/whistlin' B3 underneath & complementing all of that.
Do you play any BB King style stuff, too?

Yes the B3 had crossed my mind, I'll see if I can fit that in
The ending may be ok, just my ears after a couple of hours saying "is that it"? lol
Oh yeah for sur, BB is an influence, played a lot of his tunes in cover bands
SRV and RF are are high compliments, thank you my friend, I'm humbled

Loved it, Dave! Great tone and 'vibe'!
While I think it stands on its own, I was expecting something else to enter. I suspect that adding a layer or two will also drive the piece forward; without that kind of arc (as they say ) I'm left with a "is that all?" sensation when it's over.

I loved it, and I thought the ending was perfect! Adding the B3 would be a nice touch. Maybe even minimal, punchy, BS&T style horn parts and/or harmonica? (just an idea). Best! Thanks for the listen! JD

Hi Dave,
I really dig it! 'Cold Blue Rain' has an understated bluesy vibe...and that guitar tone is awesome! It really shines thru when you are playing the double-stops.
Best,
Steve

Loved it. So raw and true. Thought the interest might have waned a touch at the end??? Sorry that's all I got. congrats on the fine playing

Some real cool playing there... but, my honest opinion? It needs a vocal with it...
