British female vocalist needed for 80s style him/her pop track

Post by chriswattsuk » Sun Mar 26, 2017 5:57 am

I've got an 80s esque pop track that needs female vocals on it - it's a male / female duo type track, verse 1 / chorus 1 sung by male (me), and then verse 2 / chorus 2 sung by female, then harmonised male / female part at the end.

I've dubbed the vocals in a slightly London-style voice - and I think it would be good if the female part mirrored this, I'm kinda thinking Lily Allen as a reference? Lyrically it's kind of a 'neurotic love' track, so a fairly straight vocal rather than anything too flourished and showy would work well if that makes sense.

The track isn't mixed or finished - but ready to get the final vocals recorded at this point.

Here's a link to the track on Soundcloud:

Here are the lyrics with indication of who sings what:

Verse 1 - Male

I tried finding everything alright
I found another way to see things and I gave it all a try
Sometimes you have to fake it til you make it, just relax
But I know this time it’s not working like the time before the last

Chorus 1 - Male

Confidence and peace of mind
Come easily to those that to give advice
To me its not easily achieved
It’s hard to know why

Verse 2 - Female

Feels like I’ve been stood outside for years
I can’t bear to walk through the doorway
To see whether you are there
I know that I should just bite the bullet
But I might look so foolish and I might never come out alive

Chorus 2 - Female

Confidence and peace of mind
Come easily to those that give advice
To me its not so easily achieved
It’s hard to reason why
Why I’m so misunderstood
Wish I could find the answer

Verse 3 - Male

It looks as though you won’t be showing up
I go to leave then you arrive
I cannot believe my own eyes
Could I buy you a drink and maybe then
We could talk about this whole affair
And the questions on our minds
I was just wondering
If you see things the same way?

Chorus 3 - Male and Female (Duet)

Confidence and peace of mind
Come easily to those that give advice
To me its not so easily achieved
It’s hard to know why

Confidence and peace of mind
Come easily to those that give advice
To me its not so easily achieved
It’s hard to reason why
Why I’m so misunderstood
Yet so relieved you feel it too
We’ll start something fresh and new
I’m so relieved you feel it too
We’ll start something fresh and new
I’m so relieved you feel it too

Maybe I’ve found the answer now..

I've had to max-out autotune the final female vocal (the higher vocal of the two) in order to provide a guide.

Let me know if you think you can do it?

Obviously I will supply variations of the track with and without my guide vocal.

Hope to hear from you soon,

Chris

Just bumping this - I can afford around £40 if somebody is able to do it...? I know it isn't a lot. But I'm a relative newbie!
