Calming, Meditation Instrumental

Post by MathieuF » Thu Jul 19, 2018 8:24 pm

Hi ! Tonight I just started working on that one : https://soundcloud.com/mathieufiset/in-her-arms-smiling

Let me know if that would work for this listing :

CALMING, MEDITATION-Style INSTRUMENTALS are needed by an EXCLUSIVE, A-List Music Library with a seriously long list of great TV, Film, and Commercial placements. They’re on the hunt for Full-Length Instrumentals (not Cues) that are in the general stylistic ballpark of the following references:

Meditation, Relaxation Music: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mkHyRpCU2HY

Deep Tibetan Meditation Music: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vc6VqCdOqpY

Give them soothing material with a reflective and tranquil quality that sets a calming, relaxing mood and vibe. Some light percussive instrumentation and electronic elements are fine, but please make sure your Instrumental is still peaceful and relaxing overall. They’re open to both Contemporary and Traditional styles of Meditation music as long as it’s calming from start to finish. If you could imagine hearing your Instrumental used as background music for massages and meditation, or in Spas and Zen Gardens, they’ll want to hear it!

TAXI TIP: Please do NOT include any sound effects in your music such as animal sounds, waterfalls, wind, chimes, etc.

Your Instrumentals should be at least 2 to 3 minutes in length. If they go to 4 or 5 minutes, that’s okay! Non-faded endings with a natural decay or ring out should work best for this pitch, but if you’ve got a great piece that ends with a fade, submit it anyway, as this request is different from many film and TV requests. Do not copy the references in any way, shape, or form. Use them only as general guide for overall feel, texture and tone. Broadcast quality is needed.

This Library offers an EXCLUSIVE deal, so the material you submit for this pitch CANNOT be signed with any other publishers or catalogs. Sync fees will be split 50/50. The Publisher will get 100% of the Publisher’s share, and you’ll get 100% of the Writer’s share. You must own or control your Master and Copyright to pitch for this opportunity. Please submit as many Instrumentals as you’d like, online or per CD. All submissions will be screened on a Yes/No basis - Short critiques only. Submissions must be received no later than 11:59PM (PDT), on Thursday, July 26th, 2018. TAXI #Y180726CM

Nice vibe. I like your sound sets. Very smooth all the way through.
This could just be me, but I feel like it needs a B section somewhere in the middle. Even though this genre isn't supposed to draw attention to its self, just moving chords I to IV is a little too repetitive... maybe. It doesn't need to be a big departure, just an added movement. See what others say.

Really liked it, very gentle and calming. I agree it could have a break in the middle to shift it a bit.

Good luck with this one!
Mike

Thanks for the comment and suggestion :) I did some updates and added an alternate bass line (for the same chords on top) :

At about 2:20 and 2:53

In that playlist there's also 2 other tracks I'm thinking to submit for this listing as well.
