Chorus idea for country song.

Post by songmaster » Mon Jan 17, 2022 12:15 pm

I came up with this country chorus and I thought I would put it out there. I don't have a melody but I thought it would make a sizzling song  Let me know if you think it might be worth working on.

Tom

Rooms On Fire

It's hard to dance when the rooms on fire
You're smokin beauty's got me feelin weak
I'd say I'ws cool, but I'd be a liar
It ain't right when I got two left feet
I'm burnin, burnin, burnin with desire
But it's hard to dance when the rooms on fire

P.S. this song came to me while I was shoveling snow

With that kind of fervor, an insanely uptempo Bluegrass rendition might make for proper prosody...
136 bpm, or faster.
HAZMAT suits fitting over overalls? :? :P

EDIT: plus, now you can hire the world's finest fiddler - Michael Cleveland - available via airgigs.com
He'd tear it up.

Thanks Peter for those suggestions. I can see this as an uptempo song. or even slow and smoldering. I will have to think about it and also maybe try and write the rest. I like the Hazmat suit idea

Well - ever the hobbyist, as I be: iffin you ever decide to consider a co-write, or just some suggestions - gimme a holler; I'd be happy to have a go at it.
AND (or) iffin something really spunky should emerge, I've got access to a great array of pickers who can bring LIFE to an authentic Bluegrass project.
Cheers... and HEE-HAW!!
(if all you want is your nose picked - you'll have to do that job yourself!) 8-) :? 8-) :P

Well... okay: no guarantees, but I'll have a go at completing your lyrics/story.

Hey Peter! Dang you're fast! I've got to take my Daughters cat to the vet in a minute, so I will get back to this later. I see you have some really cool lines and I want to take my time and go over each one. I'm not sure about the line "nose drippin snot" that might not turn her on  it is such a big visual that I think it may distract for the rest of the song. Maybe he says " I'm stuck outdoors in the parking lot" or something like that.

Anyway, you did a great job on this song and I also want to know if she is dancing in a house or a bar.

Anyway I'll talk to you soon. Kitty is waiting :)

I see it as a 'cute' romantic story about a husband and his wife...
and how they manage to 'keep their love-flame lit' in their relationship;
even when he's relegated to doing the chores around the house.

Hey Peter, OK I get it.They are a regular married couple. If you want to go ahead and do the song , go for it! Now I know it is not in a bar and therefore makes perfect sense. The ( parking lot ) idea just wouldn't work. It would make a cute song and comical also. I'm sure you will come up with the melody if you don't already have one in mind. I have nothing

Let me know what you think.

Tom
