ANTHEMIC STOMP-CLAP INSTRUMENTAL CUES are needed by an EXCLUSIVE, LA-based Music Licensing Company that specializes in music for Movie Trailers, TV, Films, and Video Games.
This Company is looking for Instrumentals in the general stylistic wheelhouse of the following references we got directly from them:
WARNING: The references may include graphic and explicit lyrics. Listener discretion is advised.
"The Drum" by The Seige
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ujRptOjoAQ
"London Bridge" by Fergie
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mKDaogkvGgg
Although the references have vocals, please submit Instrumental Cues only for this pitch.
NOTE: We realize that these references are pretty different from each other genre-wise. We think you can get pretty creative in your approach, instrumentation, and mood; but an obvious, anthemic stomp-clap beat should be the base of your pieces.
Please submit modern Instrumental Cues with anthemic stomp-clap rhythms. Craft your Cues around a singular motif and mood, and create a sense of forward momentum and dynamics by layering instrumentation in and out as they progress. Please be sure your production is polished and any virtual instruments or samples you use are high-quality and fresh.
Submissions should be about 90 seconds to 3 minutes long, give or take. Non-faded, buttoned/stinger endings will work best for this pitch. Do NOT copy the referenced music in any way, shape, or form. Use it only as a general guide for tempo, texture, tone, and overall vibe. Broadcast Quality is needed.
This Company offers an EXCLUSIVE deal, so the material you submit for this request CANNOT be signed with other publishers or catalogs. Sync fees will be split 50/50. The Publisher will get 100% of the Publisher’s share, and you’ll keep 100% of the Writer’s share. You must own or control your Master and Copyright to pitch for this opportunity. Please submit as many Instrumental Cues as you'd like, online or per CD. All submissions will be screened and critiqued by a TAXI screener. Submissions must be received no later than 11:59 PM (PDT) on Sunday, August 1st, 2021. TAXI # S210801AP

Re: Complete Revision "Desert Voices"
From this ref track I'm getting huge sounding distorted aggressive four to the floor stomps with claps on the 2 & 4....dirty aggressive melodic guitar part at 6s ( thinking it may be a bass ) vocal whoops, reverse cymbal at 30s leads to a dirty higher guitar riff..breakdown with syncopated cinematic drums at 47 ...at 48s there's a backing vocal that's been put through a bit reducer for the chorus/hook.johndalenow wrote: ↑Sun Jul 25, 2021 11:30 pm"The Drum" by The Seige https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ujRptOjoAQ
Big booming kick drum overlaid with a siren type sound, a busy funky kind of top loop ...low brass - two parts panned left and right that kinda play off each other..something really low in the sub maybe an 808..hard to tell..it's got the obligatory claps and a fair bit of sing / swagger to it.
Less than a second in and I'm transported back to the 80's. The plucky synth sound ( nothing like this in the refs ) , the basic sound of the kick and clap is pure 80s drum machine stuff. The long legato around 13s is a very 80s trope , and the brass sounds straight up like something off an old Art of Noise record.johndalenow wrote: ↑Sun Jul 25, 2021 11:30 pmhttps://soundcloud.com/john-dale-music/ ... gzGOi1MmcK
I gotta ask...do you listen to the references and pull them into your DAW session ? If so can you hear the vast difference between those tracks and your track ? I'm asking seriously because if you can't hear it then you it's going to be virtually impossible to produce what they want. If you CAN hear the difference then you need to understand why your sounds are not anywhere close. Do you break down the references and make notes about what they are made up of ?

When you say: "pull them into your DAW session" exactly what would that operation look like? Also, what is your interpretation of "in no way shape or form copy the references." I feel as though I'm operating under a completely different interpretation of rules, sometimes. Thank you for commenting.

There are various ways to capture computer sound. Google capture audio from computerjohndalenow wrote: ↑Tue Jul 27, 2021 6:21 pmWhen you say: "pull them into your DAW session" exactly what would that operation look like?
>Here< is one blog entry about it.
Then once you have an audio file, just bring it into your DAW as usual.

Don't use the same chord and/or melody pattern. Everything else is fair game. Have a go at copying a 4 bar section of one of the refs exactly side by side in your DAW. You will learn a lot.johndalenow wrote: ↑Tue Jul 27, 2021 6:21 pmAlso, what is your interpretation of "in no way shape or form copy the references."
