Couldn't resist, here's my take on "Peaceful Easy Feeling".

Post by cowriter » Thu Feb 01, 2024 4:52 am

Hi everyone,
I don't know about you, but I was having trouble fully deciphering the requirements (see below).
However, I've had jobs before where the clients want to stay very close to the original and simply don't have the money to license it. So I took the main trademarks and just gave the groove a bit of a shuffle feel.
Feel free to tell me what you think.

Thanks, Andy

LISTING:

COVER Versions of the classic hit song, "PEACEFUL EASY FEELING" with Male, Female or Duet Vocals are needed for an for an (up to) $3,000, Direct-to-Client placement for an Ad Campaign. The song will be used in online and in-store promotion for a new Boutique Brand.

This Company is looking for Covers of the Song "Peaceful Easy Feeling."

VERY IMPORTANT NOTE: Unfortunately, we're unable to post the name of the original artist or a reference link to the original version, but yes, we mean THAT version by THOSE guys! ;)

Quoting the Client: "We're looking for a Cover Version of "Peaceful Easy Feeling" that reimagines the original while maintaining recognizability. The chorus is the most important section of the song, but a full version is needed. Male Vocals or Male/Female Duets are preferred, but Female Vocals are okay as well."

Please submit Covers of "Peaceful Easy Feeling" that are easily recognizable (it's NOT advisable to change the lyric or melody), but still offer a fresh, unique take on the original. Please make sure that any virtual instruments or samples you use are high-quality and realistic. Cool vocals that help grab listeners' attention while maintaining the peaceful easy feeling conveyed in the song could serve you well.

Good job! I think the shuffle works well, it's similar enough to the original but definitely puts a new spin on it.

Love it! Great mix too! Very bright and fun sounding. You gave the song a real lift! Great job.

I think you were wise to keep it close enough to the original yet you added lots of energy to it
with the shuffle.
Thanks!

I like it better than the others I heard, but ...the mix sounds overcompressed to me , it's just a wall of sound coming at me with no light / shade / nuance / space.

Sounds great man! I love the way you did harmonies and how they were mixed. I gave this one a shot too. It was a fun one to try with so many harmonies. I went pretty modern with the drums to make it pop a bit more. https://www.taxi.com/members/lopH81BwQe ... ing-cover-

This is the best one that I have heard so far... I REALLY wanted to try and cover this one, but man....the deadline was just ridiculous. I am a one man shop, and the background harmonies alone are some serious heavy lifting!

Thanks a lot for the positive feedback and also to you Mark for the justified criticism. I just received a message that the song was forwarded and am very curious to see who else had success and what these versions sound like.

Best, Andy
