MIX feedback welcome (not for a particular listing at this time)

The lyrics are there in the scroll down "show more" section on the song's individual page - which you get to by clicking on the song title.
In advance; thank you.

Hey, nice job -- sounded very nice overall! To my ears, the piano seems to muddy the mix and fight with all of the other nice elements happening. I would try a version with no piano and see if you agree. Also, the high end seems really boosted on the vocal, so my vote is to warm that up a bit as well. Anyway, best of luck with it!

Thanks - we can take that into consideration before the final mix/master.
TBH - the high-end boost on the vocal was/is intentional - so I'm glad it was noticeable.

Maybe because of the EQ, the lower notes of the vocals are tending to get lost a bit, like "you" at 0:25. I might boost those words a bit.

Also, there's a typo in the lyrics:
He opened us eyes --> He opened up our eyes.

I think it's a great mix! I think it's good as is, but I'd also try to tweak a few things to see what it sounds like:
  • I hear a small amount of harsh high frequency in the sibilance of the vocal, so that could benefit from some adjustment.
  • Vocal might be a little loud or could use some more blending
  • Would like to hear the bass boosted slightly
  • Would like to hear the piano more around 2:30
Good luck with the track!

Looking into re-recording the entire piano track - soloing it, other issues emerged.
Still a work-in-progress.
Thanks.
