Thanks Vikki. I was in LA for my birthday with no online access to celebrate with my Taxi forum friends. Belated is always welcome.

Ron,I felt like I was in a university that only taught courses I'm interested in and packed 2 years education into 3 days. I made lots of contacts, met people in person I had only known online, even met fans I didn't know I had. It was really fun and I have a feeling will be worth it music-business-wise (time will tell). The only thing annoying was it was over too soon.Nomi

That's so great! When I attend those types of things in Nashville, I walk away with the same feelings. To me, it's more like a great vacation and an education wrapped into one. Like the World's Fair for songwriters...

Re: Dating advice on this forum?
I read an article that reminded me of this thread.Ellen Roth, deaf her whole life, got cochlear implants at age 43. She writes:"The first time I heard music, I cried. All my life, hearing people had told me they couldn't live without music. So I went to Tower Records, put on a pair of headphones, and listened to the Red Hot Chili Peppers. It was pretty awesome. I just listened again and again. Then hip-hop, electronica, jazz, classical, rock'n'roll, country! I spent four hours there. I didn't want to leave."

Those implants are amazing, I wish they would work for all hearing impaired folks. I'd pay for it for my Dad.

I never heard of cochlear implants before. Do they only work on certain types of deafness? I should do some research, that'd give me an ice breaker! (Actually haven't seen that guy in almost a year.)
