Demo real or not demo reel ?

Hey guys, I have a few questions about demo reels:

-Is it still useful for composers nowdays ?
-to picth what ? To who ?
-what is a good demo real ?
...

Any idea - or exemple - is welcome

Hey Phil--

I believe you meant to write 'demo reel', which I don't believe are prevalent for songwriters. A broadcast quality audio demo of your tracks is what you'll want to focus on.

I saw that no one had posted a reply to your post, so I did a little Google search and found this brief suggestion site for demo reels from a media college. Just an FYI:

You'll find a lot of good information on creating a demo of your tracks in one of the Taxi forums if you do a search.

I've seen a couple of them on websites to showcase work.... couldn't tell ya how common they are or if people use them to pitch tho! No clue

Yes.. Not sure how useful it is.. Maybe in specific cases, like trying to be hired for a specific job, or by a specific company... Maybe... Ok great, less work for me !
