difference between advertising and background cue

Post by teleblaster » Wed May 01, 2019 6:59 pm

I'm looking at submitting something for listing TAXI #Y190512CT. It has this sentence (in bold) in the description:

You'd be smart to submit Instrumentals that are more geared towards use in advertising, as opposed to background Reality TV cues.

So, I think I have a tacit sense of what those differences might be. Can anyone here help out and describe them? Thanks.

more forward? :D or prominent ? as an active part of the program versus relegated to the background as a minor mood part.

From how I understand it...
Your instrumental should have more sections as in a song format (A/B/Chorus/Bridge)
Cues tend to be one A section throughout the entirety (Roughly Speaking)
