Re: DIsappointing returns (s).....
Thank YOU Chuck!! You were more than gracious to let us play your music and subject yourself to scrutiny from your fellow members and TAXI TV viewers. I hope it helped you on your quest to get more forwards and deals. And thanks to the viewers for their participation! For those of you who'd like to see how the show unfolded, please click here:

And...thanks to the both of you; especially for posting the link to the replay.
been having streaming issues the last few shows, and missed more than half the show due to video freeze. argh.
Question: on a replay, is the chat room open/live; like in the event others are viewing it at the same time?
Cheers.

I thought Chuck was going to be thrown to the lions but he was treated with the utmost respect by Michael and the watching audience.
I should mention he acted with the commendable dignity, humility and good humor.
Just one question remains Chuck.
Will you stay or will you go?

Re: DIsappointing returns (s).....
Leaning toward staying . I believe the value in it , regardless of how many forwards you get/don't get, is in the networking, the listings/opportunities you don't get elsewhere ( which I suspect even on your own you wouldn't come across as they come about due to Taxi's relationships with folks in the biz) . And the resources available to step up our game . Again any improvements I made were largely the result of my time here, which allowed me to clear the bar for some libraries. WHile my stuff currently is not amonsgst the top shelf yet of those here, I did improve enough to , I believe, to get into libraries that previously declined to take my stuff ( most still do). But kind of proud to be in the ones I'm in.

Not a surprise; but thanks to Andy, for the answer to my question.
(how DO you do that quote-thing, I still don't know...dyslexicseniormomentitis? argh!)
And...I would like to add to Chuck's comment about the rewards of networking -
stick with your strengths; and when you're weak in an area, humbly speak up and connect with someone who can make up where you are lacking. Then offer your strengths to someone who can benefit from them.
This music thing has very few Lone Rangers, imho...but lots of "Indians"...if you get the metaphor.
When and if I can manage to get some home gear working, I'd like to offer assistance with putting together drums and fill parts for someone who is lacking in that department - to supply help where there's a need. The beauty of the digital age is, you can do the drums AFTER, if need be; and really dial in where you want more, or less. I'm not a techy, but I could provide direction, and steer the techy how to get there.
Or maybe I can use the "fun" I like having with language...to assist someone who struggles with expressing their thoughts in a poetic fashion; twisting a phrase, engaging a metaphor, etc. Yeh...there are books on all that stuff. But sometimes, the spontaneity of a moment in conversation can produce something that is most applicable and appropriate.
I hope that a collaboration - me providing help to a Taxi member - might be the very ticket to me being able to become a member...and getting to attend a rally.
We've discussed the amateur v. pro thing a lot. There's even a Scriptural reference that could apply:
one that states: "a man's gift makes room for him." And what a wonderful feeling and reward it is when what you can do, and what you like to do, can also provide the means for you to continue doing it!...and more! That's what I get every time I read of one of you members posting a forward, or a placement...
I hear the dancing in your words!! (how about that for a lyric?!)
Bravo, and good-success wishes for you, Chuck...as you choose to stick with it.
Pardon my soapbox-sermonizing...I do so appreciate this forum format, and the growth it inspires.
Cheers,
Peter R.
