Hi Lamar,

The vibe is nice but the guitar sounds you played the part and looped it, whether you did or not. The finger picking of the notes are not as smooth and you can hear it in the last bar of the whole riff with a slight pause therefore when the drums come in at 1:17 it sounds a little bit out of time.

good luck.
Thanks for listening and writing, Andre. I'm not sure what caused the timing issues. I did play the parts, found the best 4 bars of each part, then used the cut and paste approach. My guitar skills are not at the same level as yours. Hopefully, you will hear some improvement with this mix.

Yeah a bit better but still there. I am just trying to help.If you are having a hard time finger picking in time, try this, on a different track record the two chords or play them with a pick, I don't know what DAW you use but if you are able to convert audio to midi or vise a versa then you can quantize the notes or move each note to make it play in time.

Hope it makes scense.

Sounds rather clunky to me the way it's picked and also the actual vibe of the track seems very down / dark for this sort of thing.

Thanks, Andre. I will look into it. This is my first attempt at this kind of listing. I appreciate your time and expertise.

Thanks for listening and writing! This is my first attempt at creating an acoustic guitar underscore. My guitar chops are probably not up to tackling it. It is rather dark sounding. Generally speaking, are underscores more positive and uplifting?

Not sure there is any "generally" that would apply to all underscores. But in each individual listing, including this one, they usually suggest that you match the "overall vibe" of the references; so compare your piece to the references. Also, I would imagine that for advertisements (specifically mentioned in the listing), positive and uplifting is more in demand than dark and down.

Thanks for the clarification, Michael. I'll keep working on this track as way to get better at instrumentals/cues. Thanks, again!

Watch daytime TV & Ads...you probably find most tracks are positive.

Hi Lamar, It's a good start. The tune has good bones but there are a few things I would compare against the sample in the listing.

1). The mix in the sample has a clean and bright sounding guitar. You can hear the articulation when the string is struck.Your mix is not as
clear as the sample. I struggle with this problem too. If you are using DI, you might want to get 2 mics and record into a stereo track. I
experimented with a Shure SM57 (Dynamic) at the sound hole and my vocal mic (AKG P420 condenser) near the bridge. That gave me a
cleaner recording. Make sure the you test the 2 mics so the recording level is the same going into each stereo channel. it can't be fixed afterwards.

2) The timing on the arpeggio is uneven.
3). The break is good but after the break, there should be more ARC. I just learned about ARC in a recent Taxi Tv episode. Its where you
add and/or subtract instruments and add more to the melody to create more excitement. After the break your recording sounds a little repetitive.

Lamar, I'm just learning all these things myself, so I'm far from being an expert but this is some of the knowledge that has been passed down
to me recently from Taxi members and screeners, so I thought that I might share it with you. You are doing great. Keep it up.

-Stu
